Collection: Cash Envelopes
Who says using cash is boring?! It doesn't have to be. Sure, you could use plain envelopes from Dollar Tree or similar but why not make it attractive rather than plain.
Tip! Fill one with a few bucks from your wallet and put it aside. Do it again next time you have a few bucks hanging around. Do it again. You'd be shocked at how fast it can add up.
A quick example. We have a plain old cookie jar that has long since lost it's lid and it's use for cookies. We use it for change. Since we pay cash, Maria almost always has a heavy amount of change in the bottom of her purse. In fact, one year while coming back from a girls trip to Las Vegas, she was pulled aside at Security because of a "mass" they couldn't identify on the scanner.
To the amusement of TSA and bystanders, the "mass" turned out to be about 2 pounds of change! Needless to say, the TSA officer cheekily advised me that if I was going to be carrying around all that change, a plastic baggie might make for a less embarrassing spin through airport security.
The point is, it's EASY to accumulate with very little effort.
An aside? The last time we cashed in our change jar it was just over 800.00 from being tossed in the jar over 3 or 4 years. You can do it too. You don't even need anything fancy. We started out our change collecting with a coffee can.
